Oh, do we have to go over this again?!

Summer's almost over. Only two weeks until I have to hoist my textbooks up eight flights of stairs again. Only 14 days until I have to paste a smile on my face and pretend to be happy to see my math teacher. (I wonder if we'll still have the same Biology teacher. Yikes.)

Like the cliché, our recognition day seemed...like yesterday. I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that I could have done so much more with my summer, but near the finish line I was able to be a part of a masterpiece.

I'm gonna miss waking up late in the morning; rolling over to find my phone in the mess of random things that found their way to my bed. I'm gonna miss receiving 20+ messages at three in the morning and trips to Starbucks (wait, I can still do the Starbucks). Although I won't miss the hangovers (ice cream, anyone?) because I've had enough of that anyway.

Being a junior is sure to be tough. I've seen last year's juniors clamoring like they're curing cancer on finals week. Picturing myself in that situation seems daunting, let alone actually doing it. Gonna have to hold my fort--that is, if I wanna start the year right.

That's the best thing about a new schoolyear--you get to start on a clean slate. Last year's mess was forgotten in the summer, and we get to make a mess again and throw it away. Or we can stay clean all year and regret it.

You'll want to make a mess, I wager?
